| Raise your dog the RIGHT way and you'll avoid health problems and unnecessary veterinary expenses, and help your dog live a healthier, happier life. |
|
Stacy Pellerin:
"I'm a very satisfied owner of your other ebook, to say the least! So I was delighted when you came out with a health book. You have outdone yourself again and I thank you for putting all this useful information in one place and for such a low price. It's easy to follow and makes perfect sense, every bit of it. It's just great."
Lynn Sweeney:
"I'm glad you tackled this big project, because in my opinion it's the perfect companion to your book on training your dog and your book on choosing the right dog. With this book on health care, you've covered all the bases for us dog owners! Thank you!"
John Mills:
"After reading this e-book, I know that I was doing so many things WRONG with my dog. I've changed a LOT of things and now I feel more assured that I'm doing the right things with him. I want him to live forever! Well okay I know he can't live forever...but I want him to enjoy MANY years of good health. I want him to be happy. I really appreciate all your help with my dog."
Chris Hewitt:
"Michele, this is the best health care book I've ever read. Bar none. I love your honest writing, how easy it is to follow and understand. Everything is laid out step by step so I know exactly what to do, what to change, what to fix. I can't wait for your next ebook -- make sure to let me know when it's available, will you?"
Todd Ellis:
"I wish I had had this book before I brought my dog to so many vets for his skin problems. He has suffered so much from all the pills and medications, they've caused so many side effects that made him miserable. Now with your help, Scout and I are on our way to improved health without the side effects. I will recommend your ebook to everyone I know."
Jane Thorpe:
"My two Labs have had so many health problems over the past five years, I've lost count. The vet says, Antibiotics. Steroids. Medicated baths. I'm sick of it and so are they! I'm convinced that taking pills and getting stuck with needles is not the way to good health. Your e Book explains all the things I can do myself to strengthen my dogs' own immune systems and that's what I'm going to do. I am putting your whole program into full swing because it makes perfect sense."
Kathryn Flynn:
"My dog Flash means the world to me so I hate it when he doesn't feel good. Now I know what to do to keep these occurrences to a minimum and keep him in peak health. I check your web site a lot for answers to my questions. Keep writing these books, I love them!"
Patrick Bowen:
"My dogs are happier than they've ever been eating the recipes from your ebook. You've laid out so many things I can DO for them and I love feeling like I'm doing things to make them happy. It puts me in control of my dogs' health, instead of the vet."
Marcy Prewitt:
"I have read so many health books and websites trying to figure out what was wrong with my dog's skin and digestive system. Your program is the first one I've ever read that gave me the exact steps to follow to get him back on the road to good health. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for providing me with this helpful ebook, I really appreciate it."
Michael Jackson:
"I was most impressed by your eye-opening chapters on safety. I'm too casual a guy and tend to assume that nothing will hurt my dog, who's a big strong Rottweiler. Reading your Ebook, I kept coming upon things that I had never considered as being potentially harmful or dangerous. I'm going to be MUCH more careful and watchful of his environment from now on. I want to have this big guy around for many more years and would never forgive myself for losing him because I wasn't paying enough attention to what's going on around him."
Paul Johnson:
"As Roger Ebert would say, "2 thumbs up!" Of course, I wasn't surprised, being that I bought your other ebook and it was also "2 thumbs up!" You're spoiling us with this kind of clear, concise writing. So much of what you find on the Internet is convoluted and hard to follow, but you have a knack for organizing information and making it very easy to understand."
Christy Harris:
"Whatever other ebooks you write, I want them!! I discovered that I was making just as many mistakes with Sugar's health care as I was with her training. (Sugar is a Shih Tzu.) Your training book straightened us right out so that she became the most well behaved dog I could ever ask for, and now your health care book is setting me straight on a lot of things I was doing wrong with feeding her and getting her shots and keeping her safe. I'm so grateful that you've taken all this time to write these books for dog owners like me."
Laura Madson:
"I would highly recommend this book. It has a tremendous amount of advice that will keep your dog as healthy and safe as he could be. I'm especially stunned at the large number of little things you mentioned that I had NEVER thought of. I would never have known to watch out for these things if I hadn't read your book."
Bobby Hargraves:
"I was eagerly waiting for this book and it has lived up to all my expectations."
Vicky Hogan:
"I actually met you many years ago when you were judging a 4-H dog show that my daughter was entered in! You took extra time with my daughter and gave her some helpful hints, sort of "insider information" on teaching her English Setter to be better behaved. Needless to say, I felt completely comfortable ordering both of your e-books and I am more than satisfied. They are full of the same kind of tips you shared with my daughter. Most of what you've written is completely new to me so I'm delighted to be learning more about how to properly raise and train our three dogs. It's already making a big difference in making them feel better, look better, and act better."
Nancy Avila:
"Great book! Exactly what I was looking for. My miniature schnauzer, Bobo, will really benefit from all your knowledge. Thanks so much for sharing!"
Jim Wiswall:
"Thanks for all the great information in your ebooks. It will come as a great reference as we raise our new Yellow Lab "Fenway". There is more good information in your books than I could have possibly hoped for. This will take a lot of guess work out of caring for our new family member."
Sandra Reynolds:
"I have tried this book & feeding program for all 8 of my dogs and the results have been simply amazing. One of my dogs had itchy flaking skin and was balding in places. She was completely bald under her neck, back of her ears, and down under her front legs. Her hair has completely grown back and is much much thicker than ever before and NO MORE SCRATCHING. We have noticed all of the dogs changing for the better. We are believers for life and have more life now to share with our wonderful furry friends, thanks to you!"
Linda Swanson:
"The best money I've ever spent. My Boxer doesn't have that awful gas any more, boy, could he clear a room! I've been giving him three square meals of the foods you recommended and no more rumbling stomach or diarrhea. Wish I had done this sooner. Thanks so much for solving this problem for Baxter."
Lisa Sowders:
"Hi, I downloaded your book and just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying it. It has taught me more about being a good caregiver when it comes to feeding my dogs. The things in your book are so informative and a lot more information than I ever could receive from my vet. It has also made me be alot more conscious about their health and well-being. I always thought I was doing what was best for them, but your book has really opened my eyes and I appreciate that. I am not one that really enjoys reading these types of books but yours is written in a fun and enjoyable way. It is not stiff or politically correct like some others. I appreciate your writing style."
Frank Venti:
"This is my second e-book from you and an eye opener for sure. Thank you so much for your enlighting information. It makes so much sense, I am forever grateful."
Shane Bacon:
"Top notch information, top notch price. Keep up the good work and let me know when your next ebook is ready. I will definitely buy it."
Janise Carrera:
"My favorite chapter was the one on choosing the right vet. I would never have thought of all those questions and I have to admit I was shocked when my vet (my former vet now!) bombed them badly. My new vet on the other hand passed with flying colors and now I'm much more confident of my dog's care. All thanks to your ebook."
John Nicols:
"Just wanted to let you know I am one satisfied customer. I've bought all your ebooks so far and love them all. Nobody else writes the way you do, it's most enjoyable to read. Your books have helped me raise and train my Lab Shepherd puppy and I am proud of the way he looks and acts when I take him anywhere. People ask, what do you feed him? how did you get his hair so shiny? where did you learn how to train him? Feel free to put this on your web site if you want, I'd like everyone to read it, because my honest opinion is, no dog owner can go wrong with your books."
Nichole Gray:
"Your other ebook, Teach Your Dog 100 English Words, was so helpful to my family in training our little bichon, Cappy. He's a sweet dog but so stubborn. With your help we finally got him housebroken and now he doesn't jump on people either. But your health ebooks have been even more helpful for Cappy's skin problems. He had terribly itching skin, allergies, and ear infections. Numerous trips to the vet just got Cappy hooked on steroid shots and whenever we tried to give him a break from the side effects, his skin broke out again. It was your health program that stopped his itching for good and got him off the steroids for good. Thank you so much for helping us and Cappy."
Gil Archambeault:
"Our vet has twice misdiagnosed things that were wrong with our dog Custer. It was obvious that I needed to be more involved in Custer's health care than just leaving it up to the vet. Your health program was just what I was looking for. It's perfect for owners who believe in being more informed and more competent about their dog's health care."
Too embarrassed to give my name...
"The first time I did your check up, I found an infected tooth, an overgrown dew claw, and matting underneath my dog's tail that had been making him uncomfortable climbing stairs. I was shocked and embarrassed that so much could have been wrong with my dog and I hadn't even known how to check for it! Now I do the check up once a month and feel so much better that I'm taking proper care of my dog."
Angel Delorme:
My dog had some suspicious symptoms that were described in one of your health ebooks. Because of what I read in your book, I asked the vet to do the test for Addison's disease. Well, my dog has now been diagnosed officially with Addison's. She is receiving proper treatment and things look good for her. I'm so grateful that I purchased your ebooks. I had never even heard of Addison's disease before."
Jakob Hoffman:
"Your book opened my eyes to all the health problems in purebred dogs. Now I feel better prepared to keep an eye on my dog for the health problems that are most common for his breed."
Stacy Pellerin:
"I'm a very satisfied owner of your other ebook, to say the least! So I was delighted when you came out with a health book. 11 Things You Must Do RIGHT
To Keep Your Dog
Healthy and Happy
Hello, I'm Michele Welton, and I hope you've been learning a lot from my web site.
I'm sure that some of what you've learned
about raising your puppy (and your adult dog)
has surprised you.
I'm sure it's different from what you've read
or been told ELSEWHERE.
You may have read or been told elsewhere...
- That you should feed your dog a premium dog food (Science Diet, Iams, Eukanuba, Nutro, etc.)
- That you should feed your dog kibble because it's good for his teeth.
- That your dog should chew on rawhide bones (or cornstarch bones, or Greenies, or pig's ears, etc.) to help keep his teeth clean.
- That his teeth should be professionally cleaned by the vet every year.
ALL OF THIS IS INCORRECT.
You may have read or been told elsewhere...
- That your puppy needs a series of vaccinations, i.e. he needs to be vaccinated three or four times -- and that each vaccination needs to include distemper, parvovirus, coronavirus, leptospirosis, kennel cough, and perhaps several other diseases.
- That your adult dog needs booster shots every year.
- That your puppy or adult dog needs to be wormed regularly.
- That you should control fleas and ticks with a flea collar or flea spray, or flea shampoo
ALL OF THIS IS INCORRECT.
You may have read or been told elsewhere...
- That you should use a choke collar for walking or training your dog.
- That you should neuter your dog around six months old.
- That any licensed veterinarian will give your dog the proper diagnoses and treatments so you should choose a vet based on how friendly he and his office staff are, or how happy your dog is to see him, or how reasonable his fees are.
ALL OF THIS IS INCORRECT.
When it comes to raising your
dog, most of what you've read
or been told to do is based on
OUTDATED
MIS-INFORMATION.
|
Here's what happens when you raise your dog based on outdated misinformation
The wrong chew toys or the wrong collar can lead to injuries, even death.
The wrong foods, the wrong vaccinations, the wrong flea products, neutering at the wrong time, taking your dog to the wrong vet...
can cause HEALTH PROBLEMS, especially allergies, itchy skin, "hot spots", ear infections, digestive upsets, loose stools, gassiness, urinary infections, incontinence -- and more.
That's why I wrote...
"11 Things You Must Do RIGHT
To Keep Your Dog Healthy and Happy"

To tell you WHICH THINGS
you've read about or heard about are
OUTDATED MISINFORMATION.
And to give you the RIGHT information
about raising your dog the RIGHT way,
an 11-Step Health Care Program
that will keep your dog healthy and happy
for a lifetime.
So...
- If you've just gotten a PUPPY (or if you're PLANNING on getting a puppy)...
I will show you how to raise him RIGHT -- from the very beginning -- so he DOESN'T develop health problems as he grows up.
- If your dog is an adult and has been healthy SO FAR...
| Don't be fooled. If you're raising him in the wrong ways, it WILL catch up to him and he WILL develop health problems.
I can show you how to make just a few changes in how you're raising him that will make all the difference in the world to his future health.
|
- If your dog HAS CURRENT HEALTH PROBLEMS (especially allergies, itchy skin, "hot spots", ear infections, digestive upsets, loose stools, gassiness, and so on)...
I will show you how following my 11-Step Health Care program improves his chances of beating those health problems.
| In 11 Things You Must Do RIGHT, you'll learn... |
- The BEST food for your dog.
- The SECOND-best food for your dog.
- The ONLY brand of commercial dog food I recommend. (And no, I don't sell it.)
- What to look for on the ingredients label of all commercial dog foods.
| The WORST foods for your dog. Ironically, many owners who have been trying to feed the best are actually feeding the worst. |
- Which vaccinations your dog really needs -- parvovirus? coronavirus? leptospirosis? kennel cough?
- Which vaccinations he SHOULDN'T get because they're a waste of money -- or harmful.
- How OLD your puppy should be for his first vaccinations.
- How OFTEN vaccinations need to be repeated -- does your dog need yearly booster shots?
- What you should do about vaccinations if you acquire an adult dog and you don't know which vaccinations he may have already had.
- What may happen to your dog if you let the vet give him the WRONG vaccinations -- or TOO MANY vaccinations.
- Six safe ways to keep fleas off your dog.
- Five products you SHOULDN'T use to prevent fleas.
- Is heartworm preventative really needed?
| 11 Things You Must Do RIGHT To Keep Your Dog Healthy and Happy includes everything you need to know to raise your dog the RIGHT way. |
Here's why I'm so sure I can help you.
- I've been training dogs and teaching obedience classes for over 30 years now.
- I'm a dedicated researcher. I've spent hundreds and hundreds of hours tracking down health care studies, perusing databases, reading veterinary journals, and reviewing technical articles on every aspect of canine health care.
- I'm the author of four hardcover and softcover books, available in bookstores and libraries, on choosing and caring for dogs, cats, and pet birds.
- I'm the author of six eBooks, available from my web site, on raising and training dogs.
- My advice on raising and training dogs has been featured in newspaper columns and on television.
- And I've written every word of this 1250+ page web site.
Read more about my 30 years' experience with dogs.
See two of my other bright, happy, well-trained dogs.
See some of my dogs' obedience ribbons.
My writing is easy to read.
Read through my web site and you'll see that my writing is conversational, straightforward, and easy to read. And sometimes (I hope...) humorous!
I like to write as though I'm sitting across the table talking to you -- one on one.
Since I'm unable to do that with each one of you, writing to you is the next best thing. When I write, I talk directly TO you.
| People enjoy reading my writing! |
To see what others say about
my writing and my books,
read the stories in the left column.
| In 11 Things You Must Do RIGHT, you'll learn... |
- Over 20 products in your home that can cause itchy skin and allergies in your dog.
- What your dog's food and water dishes should be made of -- and what they shouldn't be made of.
 - I'm sure you already know that chocolate is dangerous to dogs -- but do you know exactly how much milk chocolate will kill your dog? How much DARK chocolate?
- The safest toys for your dog.
| And the WORST toys -- chances are at least ONE of these worst toys is in your house right now. |
- How to prevent escapes from your house and yard.
- How to confine your dog if you don't have a fenced yard.
- Should you consider "invisible fencing"?
- Common safety hazards in your home and yard:
- 10 safety hazards in your kitchen
- 5 safety hazards in your living room
- 3 safety hazards in your bedroom
- 3 safety hazards in your bathroom
- 4 safety hazards in your yard and garden
- 2 safety hazards on your sidewalks and driveway
| You probably wouldn't even THINK of most of these safety hazards -- yet they cause dogs to die. In some breeds, the leading cause of death is ACCIDENTS. |
- 11 different ways to provide physical exercise for your dog.
- How to exercise your PUPPY or TEENAGE dog.
| Puppies and adolescent dogs need VERY DIFFERENT kinds of exercise than adult dogs! |
- 11 challenging activities that will keep your dog's brain cells healthy for a lifetime.
- Why it can be risky to sign up for group dog training classes -- and I'm an obedience instructor, so I know about this!
I've organized my Health Care Program so that it's clear and easy to read. Following this program gives your dog the best chance of staying healthy and being with you for a long, long time.
|
| In 11 Things You Must Do RIGHT, you'll learn... |
- The best collars for walking and training your dog
| And the WORST collars. You need to know this, because the WORST collars are very popular. |
- What your dog's identification tag should SAY on it to improve his chances of coming home if he gets lost. (If you guessed, "REWARD!" -- you're wrong!)
- Will a microchip help bring your dog home if he gets lost or stolen? How about a tattoo?
- EIGHT reasons why your dog may be stolen -- and NINE ways you can protect him.
- The TWO safe ways for your dog to travel in the car.
- How to make legal arrangements for your dog's lifetime care in case anything should happen to you.
- How to keep a small dog safe around other dogs.
- Step-by-step grooming instructions for:
- cleaning your dog's ears
- brushing his teeth
- clipping his nails
- brushing and combing
- trimming and clipping
- bathing and drying
- How to decide whether you should breed your dog.
- The advantages of neutering your dog.
- Some DISadvantages of neutering your dog.
- How OLD your dog should be for neutering.
| Why neutering at the WRONG age is a big mistake. |
- FIVE things your vet must do to neuter your dog SAFELY.
| Do NOT take your dog in for neutering until you read this. Tragically, many dogs DIE during surgery because these five safety precautions weren't taken. |
- How to find the BEST veterinarian in your area.
- How to TELL if a vet is any good.
| Do you know the three most common mistakes dog owners make when choosing a vet? |
| I have even MORE to offer you... |
As good as 11 Things is,
it's only ONE part of my
complete health care program.
You actually get FOUR books!
Let's look at each book one at a time:
 |
You've already read about 11 Things You Must Do Right To Keep Your Dog Healthy and Happy. Prevent health problems from developing in the first place by raising your dog the RIGHT way. 11 health-promoting principles are fully explained in my easy-to-read writing style.
Good health over a lifetime doesn't just happen by luck. What you do NOW will affect your dog's health for years to come.
|
 |
As the title suggests, The Nose To Tail Checkup is a step-by-step guide for checking your dog from nose to tail. I'll show you how to catch problems that most dog owners, even many vets, would miss.
You'll learn how to detect health problems while they're still minor and easy to correct.
|
 |
In Health Profiles For 165 Dog Breeds, I've listed the most common health problems in each breed so you'll know what to be especially watchful for in YOUR breed.
Knowing what to look for in your dog's particular breed, and knowing what to focus on preventing, can make all the difference in your dog's long-term health.
|
 |
If your dog does develop some health problem, Treatment Options will tell you about the most effective treatments with the fewest side effects. You'll learn when inexpensive at-home treatments are better options than going to the vet.
And when you DO go to the vet, you'll learn how to avoid unnecessary tests and treatments that can make your dog feel awful.
|
| My complete health program covers all the bases -- prevention, detection, and correction. This is good news for the dog you love! |
Here's the best news of all:
you get this complete health care program
for only
$14
Yes, you read that right. You get all four books (over 1000 pages) for a total of $14.
| I charge so little for my program because I know it will make your dog's life better. I would much rather have many owners read it for a lower price than have fewer owners read it for a higher price. MY compensation would be the same either way -- but at the lower price, more owners and dogs benefit.
|
Another reason I can offer all this
for such a low price? Because...
| These health books are eBooks |
An eBook is a digital book. You read it on your computer screen using a software program called Adobe Acrobat Reader. Almost all computers come with Acrobat Reader already installed, so it's likely that you have it.
There are two ways to get my eBooks on your screen:
- Download. You can download them from MY computer to YOUR computer.
- CD. Or I can put the eBooks on a CD and mail it to you. (If you live in the United States.) A CD costs $5 more because I have to make it, package it, and ship it.
|
Let me tell you a little more about downloading.
- Downloading is the easiest thing in the world -- I can walk you through it in just a few simple steps.
- Downloading means instant gratification. It takes only a few minutes for the eBook to appear on your screen and then you can start reading it immediately.
- Once the eBook is downloaded to your computer, you can read it whenever you want. You don't have to sign onto the Internet or come to my web site to read it -- it's right there on your own hard drive, on your own computer.
|
If you're a little uncertain about downloading,
click here to do a free practice download.
If your computer just can't do a download, I can put the eBooks on a CD and mail it to you by first class mail. The CD has the exact same eBooks you would get if you downloaded them, so you still need Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer to read the eBooks. I only ship CDs to addresses in the United States. A CD costs $5 more for shipping and handling.
Risk-Free Money-Back
Guarantee
I offer a money back guarantee for 30 days. (If you order a CD, the extra $5 for shipping and handling is not refundable.)
Read the success stories from my customers (running down the left column of this page). You'll see that I know dogs, I teach in the simplest language, and my techniques work.
| Bottom line...
When you follow this health care program, you'll be raising your dog the RIGHT way, feeding him the RIGHT food, giving him the RIGHT vaccinations, avoiding health problems and unnecessary veterinary expenses, and helping him live a longer, happier, and more comfortable life.
