Havanese: the most honest advice you'll ever find about Havanese dogs -- purebred, crossbred, and mixed breed. Buying, adopting, raising, training, behavior, and health care for Havanese puppies and adult dogs.

The Havanese belongs to the same family of dogs as the Bichon Frise. In fact, the Havanese is sometimes called Bichon Havanais (Bichon means "lap dog").

The Havanese (and Bichon Frise) are also related to the Maltese, Coton de Tulear, and Lowchen.

You can have one Havanese or six Havanese, just as "sheep" is both singular and plural.

The most common misspelling is havinese, with an i instead of an a. Try to remember Havana, Cuba, which is the breed's origin.
