Which Dog Breed Is Best For You?

Collage of dog breeds I can help you choose the right dog breed for your family.

Just answer 38 questions about the characteristics you're looking for in a dog.

Send me your answers, and I'll recommend dog breeds who are good matches for you.

It's as simple as that.

Choosing the right dog breed is so important!

As an obedience instructor and canine behavioral consultant, I can tell you that a major cause of problems between an owner and his dog is that the dog doesn't suit the owner -- or the owner doesn't suit the dog.

If you choose a breed for the wrong reasons.... because you like its muscular build, or pretty coat, or angelic face, or because there's a litter handy, or because your Uncle Bob had one "who could practically talk"...

In a few months, you may discover, to your dismay, that you have started a 10- to 15-year relationship with an incompatible breed. Then you and your dog will end up in a discouraging battle as you struggle to change his natural characteristics to ones that you would prefer. Usually you don't win this battle -- and it's "no fun".

Here's a BETTER way to choose the right dog breed:

  1. Answer the 38 questions in my Breed Selection questionnaire. Questions like....

    • What size do you want your dog to be?
    • Does he need to be good with children?
    • How much shedding can you tolerate?
    • Are allergies a problem in your family?
    • Does your dog need to get along with other dogs?
    • Does he need to get along with cats or other small pets?
    • How large is your yard?
    • How high is your fence?
    • How much brushing are you willing and able to do?
    • How much trimming or clipping?
    • How much exercise can you provide?
    • How easy should your dog be to train?
    • and much more!

  2. I'll evaluate and analyze your answers personally and recommend the dog breeds that seem most suited to you.

Man thinking about dog breedsEven if you already have an idea of which breed you want...

Are you sure you've made the right choice? You might be missing something!

I've been helping people choose and buy dogs for over 30 years. I know the questions to ask that reveal the kind of dog that's best suited to your family and lifestyle. And I can tell you about uncommon dog breeds that you may not have considered.

There's a lot of hidden, insider information about dog breeds. I know the ins and outs of all the breeds and I will tell you whether the dog breeds you're considering really are good choices for you -- or not. Won't you feel better knowing that your choices have been double-checked by an expert?

After I tell you which breeds are right for you,
you still need to find the right
individual puppy (or adult dog).

To help you do that, I'd like to give you
TWO FREE BOOKS.

Before you buy a dog, you need to know which health problems are most common in that breed, because...

  • In some breeds, you shouldn't buy a puppy unless he has been tested and cleared of specific ailments common to that breed.

  • In other breeds, it's the parents who should have been tested and cleared before breeding.

  • Some breeds are so sickly that you should only buy that breed if you're prepared to deal with the expected heart disease, or cancer, or blindness, or epilepsy.

Download Health Profiles For 165 Dog Breeds -- FREE -- and you won't have to do your own research about health problems. I've done it all for you and I want to give it to you FREE.

Is Breed Consulting right for you?

I can only accept a limited number of clients for this service, and there are a few requirements:

  1. There should be an adult home during the day at your house. Dogs are sociable "pack" animals who need companionship. Dogs who are left alone all day are not happy. PUPPIES are especially unsuited to being left alone -- puppies require ongoing interaction, supervision, socialization, and training, sprinkled all through the day.

If you work all day, I CAN recommend breeds if you'll accept TWO SMALL ADULT DOGS. Two to keep each other company, small so they don't need too much exercise, and adult so they're already housebroken, socialized, and well-behaved and can be trusted in the house without needing to be caged.

  2. If you have children, they should be over age 6. I'm not comfortable recommending breeds for families with toddlers or preschoolers.

  3. Your yard should have a physical fence (not invisible or electronic). Or you should be willing to keep your dog on-leash when you take him outside. There are no breeds I can recommend who will safely and reliably stay on your property without a physical fence or leash.

  4. You should be looking for an indoor dog.

To find a GOOD DOG, you need to:

  • Choose the right breed
  • Choose the right source
  • Choose the right individual dog

I will recommend the right breeds for you. Your FREE bonus books (instant downloads) will tell you how to choose the right source and the right individual dog. You're completely covered!

The cost of my Breed Consulting Service is $45. You'll receive the Breed Selection Questionnaire (38 questions about the characteristics you're looking for in a dog), my personal review and analysis of your answers, my personalized recommendations about the best breeds for you (emailed to you within 48 hours), and your two FREE books (available for instant download).
